Dr. Adam Chan completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). After completing his internship in Sydney, he underwent training in general surgery in Hong Kong. On his return to Sydney, he changed his career pathway and undertook specialist training in emergency medicine which was a relatively new specialty at the time.
Dr. Chan has been a practicing Emergency Medicine Specialist (FACEM) for more than 30 years. He was the Director of Emergency Medicine at St George Hospital (NSW) for 20 years and served as an examiner with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine for 25 years. He is also a Conjoint Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine at UNSW, and he continues to be actively involved in the education and training of medical students and young doctors.
