Marcela Coutinho

Marcela Coutinho has extensive work experience in the field of design and product development. Marcela is currently the Head of Design at Pepper.com - The World's Largest Deal Community since August 2023. Prior to this, Marcela worked as a Mentor at Femme Palette starting in May 2022. Marcela also held positions at SumUp, where they served as a Principal Product Designer from June 2022 to August 2023, and as a Senior Product Designer from November 2020 to July 2022. Marcela has also worked as a Senior Product Designer at Pepper.com from October 2019 to November 2020. Before that, they worked at Itaú Unibanco as a Design Manager from May 2019 to October 2019, and as a Design Lead from August 2017 to October 2019. Marcela was also a Mentor at SXSW in March 2018. Marcela has experience at Ogilvy & Mather, where they worked as a Design Manager from July 2016 to August 2017, and as a Senior UX/UI Designer from October 2013 to July 2016. Marcela was a Senior Digital Designer at Urban Summer Digital Creative from June 2012 to September 2013 and an Art Director at LOV from July 2011 to June 2012. Marcela started their career as a Jr. Art Director at DRAFT FCB from May 2010 to July 2011.

Marcela Coutinho holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, which they completed from 2005 to 2009. In 2011 to 2012, they attended Quanta Academia de Artes, where they focused on Illustration. Marcela acquired a Master's degree in E-Commerce/Electronic Commerce from Centro Universitário Senac, which they completed from 2017 to 2018. Additionally, Marcela has obtained several certifications, including "Persuasive and Emotional Design" from Nielsen Norman Group in February 2022, "Certified Scrum Product Owner®" from Scrum Alliance in December 2017, "Usability Tests: Theory and Practice" from Dialog UX in August 2016, and "The Course of Human-Centered Design" from IDEO.org and Acumen in April 2016. Marcela also holds a membership certificate from The Interaction Design Foundation.
