Jacob Thurman

Jacob Thurman has a diverse work experience in the software engineering field. Jacob is currently working as a Staff Software Engineer at MyFitnessPal since 2023. Previously, they owned and operated TwoDesk Software Company from 2003 to 2015, where they developed and sold various mobile applications and developer tools. Embarcadero Technologies acquired a significant part of their business in 2014, and Jacob worked as an independent contractor for them from 2015 to 2016, integrating their products into their existing software.

Jacob also has experience at iFIT, where they held multiple roles. Jacob worked as a Senior Mobile Developer from 2017 to 2020, where they designed and developed the mobile component of the "iFit Live" feature. Jacob then became the Engineering Lead from 2020 to 2022, leading a team in creating the next-generation iFit Cardio app on iOS. Lastly, they served as a Staff Engineer from 2022 to 2022.

Before joining iFIT, Jacob worked as an Instructor at Western Illinois University from 2013 to 2017. During their time there, they taught various programming and technology-related courses and also took part in university committees.

Jacob Thurman holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science from Western Illinois University, which they obtained from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science, with a minor in Music, from the same institution from 2002 to 2005.
