Jelte Meulenaar has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Jelte started their career as a Treasurer for the Executive Board of the International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation. Jelte then interned at Solvay Pharmaceuticals in Research and Development before working as Congress Staff for the International Pharmaceutical Federation. Jelte later interned at the Academic Medical Center in the hospital pharmacy and cardiology department. Jelte then took on the role of Trainer and Coach at Hurley hockey club.
In 2008, Jelte joined The Netherlands Cancer Institute as a Pharmaceutical scientist/Pharmacist/PhD. Jelte was responsible for the development, manufacturing, and quality control of a novel extended-release formulation for an anti-cancer drug. Jelte's work involved various tasks such as formulation development, pre-clinical studies, analytical development, stability studies, clinical study development, and publication of work in peer-reviewed journals.
Jelte then worked as a Product Application Specialist at DFE Pharma, where they managed customer relations and provided R&D and formulation support on pharmaceutical excipients.
In 2013, Jelte joined Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd, IPDO Leiden, as an Associate Scientist in Formulation & Process Development. Jelte later took on the role of Technical Lead, where they had scientific and operational responsibility for the development of injectable drug products, technology transfer, and commercial scale manufacturing support.
From 2018 to 2022, Jelte worked at Centrient Pharmaceuticals in various roles, including Drug Product Development Manager, Project Manager in the Project Management Office, and Project Manager in Manufacturing Science and Technology.
Currently, Jelte works at MyLife Technologies as a Program Director for MAP Formulations.
Jelte Meulenaar pursued their education in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. Jelte started their academic journey at the University of Groningen in 1999, where they obtained a MSc degree in Pharmacy in 2006. In the same period, from 2000 to 2006, they also completed another MSc degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Groningen. Following their passion for the subject, Jelte Meulenaar then joined Utrecht University in 2006 and achieved their PharmD degree in 2008. Continuing their academic pursuits, they went on to complete a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at Utrecht University from 2008 to 2013, specializing in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
