George Garcia

George Garcia has a long and varied work history in the technology industry. From 1989 to 1996, they worked as a Software Engineer at AT&T, where they led a small team of developers in re-engineering projects for the financial services division, migrating large MVS mainframe systems to Unix and client-server platforms. George also performed system administration functions for Unix servers, desktop PCs and a Sybase DBMS. From 1996 to 2000, they worked as a Web Developer and Technical Lead at Alamo Rent-A-Car, where they managed the development team for Alamo.com and developed parts of the website. From 2000 to 2003, they worked as an E-commerce Technical Manager at MarsMusic.com, providing technical solutions in a timely and cost effective manner to meet the e-commerce goals of the company. From 2003 to 2005, they worked as an E-commerce Director at Host Depot, Inc., where they established and managed an in-house development department. From 2005 to 2009, they worked as the Chief Technology Officer at Musician's Hut, responsible for all technology decisions. From 2009 to 2012, they worked as the Chief Information Officer at Successories, responsible for the planning, acquisition, development and maintenance of all systems and applications. Finally, from 2012 to 2015, they worked as the Chief Technology Officer at Polaroid Fotobar, overseeing the implementation of integrated, omni-channel, retail and e-commerce systems. In 2015, they helped establish MyPhoto (formerly Photo & Go), a start-up in the custom photo business, and developed the vision for a unique multi-channel business model.

George Garcia attended the University of Miami from 1984 to 1988, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with a focus in Computer and Electrical Engineering.
