Michael Lai

Michael Lai has extensive work experience in various leadership roles in the telecommunications and technology industry. Michael has served as a Board Member and on the Board Risk Management Committee at Great Eastern General Insurance (Malaysia) Berhad since 2019. Prior to that, they were an Independent, Non-Executive Director and later the Non-Executive Chairman at G3 Global Berhad from 2018.

From 2015, Lai worked as the Group Director of Corporate Development at MyRepublic and served as the President-Director & CEO at Innovate-Indonesia in 2013.

Earlier in their career, Lai held the position of CEO at Packet One Networks (P1) from 2007 to 2013. Michael was also the CEO at TM Net Sdn Bhd from 2005 to 2006 and held the role of Senior Vice President at Celcom Malaysia (now Celcom Axiata Berhad) from 2002 to 2005.

Lai's career began at Oracle, where they served as the Marketing Director from 1999 to 2002.

Michael Lai has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Oklahoma State University. Michael also holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Electrical Engineering (Honors) from Queen's University at Kingston, Ontario, Canada. In addition, they have obtained a certification in "The Fundamentals of Digital Marketing" from Google Digital Garage in 2021.
