Sherif Abdou

Sherif Abdou is the Regional Managing Director at ZealPay. Sherif has over 13 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with a focus on customer experience, operational processes, and change management.

Sherif began their career at Vodafone Group in February 2008 as the Global Retail Development Sr Manager. In this role, they provided support and guidance to Heads of Retail in Vodafone’s branded & controlled stores across the globe, helping them to improve customer experience and operational processes. Sherif also introduced new capabilities, KPIs, and benchmarking practices to individual Vodafone operating companies.

In May 2010, Sherif transferred to Vodafone Egypt where they took on the role of Head of Vodafone Cash [E Wallet] and Credit Management. In this senior executive role, they were responsible for Vodafone Egypt’s collection, bad debt, and credit control policies and procedures. Sherif also oversaw the financial transactions of Vodafone Cash, an e-wallet with over 3 billion LE in monthly transactions.

Under Sherif’s leadership, the team at Vodafone Egypt achieved many successes, including becoming #1 in market share for Vodafone Cash e-wallets and increasing the Vodafone Cash customer base by 100%. Thanks to their financial transaction monitoring, ATM failures decreased from 7% to 0.5%. Sherif also decreased validation SL with our aggregators by 50%, which led to an increase in customer satisfaction.

In addition to their work at Vodafone, Sherif has also been active in the community, sponsoring and boosting digital penetration by focusing on deflecting retail bill payments to Vodafone’s App. Sherif has also led and designed a balanced collection approach that yielded a 20 million saving in bad debt.

Sherif Abdou has a Masters in Marketing from Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, a Good in Foreign trade from Faculty of commerce and business administration, and a Certification from Scrum Alliance in Certified Agile Leadership I.
