N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission
Andrea J. Shipley, MS, is a Mammalogist at the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission since February 2016, focusing on the status, distribution, and research needs of mammals, particularly small mammals. Formerly, Andrea served as a Canid Biologist within the Red Wolf Recovery Program, fostering partnerships with various stakeholders and implementing spatial ecology research objectives. Other valuable experiences include roles as a Wildlife Biologist for the Eastern Nevada Landscape Coalition, a Field Technician at Indiana University of Pennsylvania Research Institute and Eco-Tech Consultants, and research positions at institutions such as Southern Sierra Research Station and Eastern Kentucky University. Andrea holds a Master of Science in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Applied Ecology from Eastern Kentucky University and a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Rutgers University.
