Civil Design Engineer at N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission

Jim Sullivan, PE, currently serves as a Civil Design Engineer for the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission since May 2022. Prior experience includes a lengthy tenure at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College as Department Chair from 2005 to May 2022, where notable achievements included being named 2017-18 Teacher of the Year and co-principal investigator for multiple National Science Foundation grants. Jim played a pivotal role in various committees focused on accreditation and student success initiatives, demonstrating a commitment to enhancing educational outcomes. From 1997 to 2005, Jim worked as an Assistant Resident Engineer for NCDOT, overseeing roadway and bridge construction projects, including a significant $50 million interstate project. Jim holds a Master’s degree in Project Management from Western Carolina University and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida.
