Anteo Smerieri

Anteo Smerieri has a diverse work experience spanning multiple fields. Anteo started their career as a Temporary Researcher at the University of Bologna, where they worked on developing protocols for functionalizing quartz slides with synthetic DNA oligomers. Anteo then became a PhD Student at the Università degli studi di Parma, where their research focused on organic memristors and included building devices, testing chemical agents, and writing automation code for measurements.

During their PhD, Anteo also spent a year as a Visiting Academic at the University of Warwick, collaborating with the Computational Biology group on joint research projects. After completing their PhD, they joined the Université libre de Bruxelles as a Postdoc Researcher, where they worked on the realization of analog optoelectronic Reservoir Computers.

Anteo then transitioned into industry, joining You Know Watt as a Research Engineer. In this role, they designed and implemented signal processing algorithms for disaggregating electrical consumption from single appliances and used Big Data tools for processing and storing sensor data.

Currently, Anteo is working at N-SIDE, where they started as a Software Engineer and was promoted to Senior Software Engineer. Anteo is currently leading the Solution Design & Practices Team, responsible for designing and implementing solutions for the company.

Overall, Anteo has a strong background in research and engineering, with expertise in fields such as signal processing, optoelectronics, and computational biology.

Anteo Smerieri completed a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the Università degli Studi di Parma in 2004. Anteo then pursued further education and obtained a Master's degree in Condensed Matter and Materials Physics from the same university, which they completed in 2007.
