Robbie Burns

Robbie Burns is a seasoned telecoms and cyber engineer currently employed at Nationalgrid since October 2021, where responsibilities include telecom and cybersecurity engineering. Robbie also serves as a project supervisor at National Grid since November 2019 and has experience as a Class 2 HGV driver with Nagel-Group since July 2019. Additionally, Robbie holds the position of transmission manager and technical support manager at 8 Point 8 Support Ltd from April 2019 and August 2014, respectively. Prior experience includes serving as a telecoms general foreman at Babcock International Group from September 2005 to August 2014, overseeing field activities, delivering training, and ensuring quality control. Robbie began the career in telecommunications as a senior commissioning engineer at Eve Telecom from July 2002 to September 2005 and as a microwave commissioning engineer at OPCS from September 2001 to June 2002, focusing on installation and commissioning of microwave links. Robbie completed education at Lindsey Comprehensive Cleethorpes from 1987 to 1993.
