Zach Phillips is the Director of Professional Development at NAMM. Zach has also served as a Contributing Editor for DownBeat Magazine, a Columnist for NBCChicago.com, and the Editor for both UpBeat Daily and Music Inc. magazine.

Phillips began their career in 1999 as the Editor for Music Inc. magazine. In this role, they were responsible for directing and managing all aspects of the magazine, including the website, e-newsletter and social media. In 2004, they became the Editor for UpBeat Daily, and was responsible for managing and directing all editorial for the official NAMM Show daily magazine. In 2011, they took on the role of Columnist for NBCChicago.com, writing regularly on entrepreneurship and small-business issues for the website's "Inc Well" department. Zach also served as a Contributing Editor for DownBeat Magazine during this time, writing music and product reviews for the world's most popular jazz magazine.

Phillips has been working in the music industry for over 20 years. Zach is an expert in better-business practices and has helped countless music professionals improve their businesses. In their current role as Director of Professional Development at NAMM, they are responsible for leading educational seminars and workshops at NAMM events around the world, helping music industry professionals learn new skills and grow their businesses.

Zach Phillips' educational career began with him obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Theirtory from Loyola University Chicago.
