Alex Savtchenko, PhD

Alex Savtchenko, PhD has a long and varied work experience. From 1995 to 2018, they have held positions at the University of Miami, Affymax Research Institute, Axon Instruments, Amgen, Invitrogen, Vala Sciences, Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute, Stanford University, and Nanotools Bioscience. Theirroles have included Instructor, Staff Scientist II, Senior Project Engineer, Research Scientist III, Principal Scientist, Director of BioImaging Applications, Research Scientist, and Chief Executive Officer. At Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute, they were involved in projects aimed to discover genes, proteins and small molecules that promote differentiation and maturation of cardiomyocyte progenitor stem cells.

Alex Savtchenko, PhD, obtained their PhD in Biophysics and Neurobiology from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University) (MIPT) and Bogomoletz Institute for Physiology between 1986 and 1990. Alex also obtained their MS in Physics and Chemistry from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University) (MIPT) between 1978 and 1984.
