Austin Owens

Austin Owens is an experienced robotics technologist currently working at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory since January 2022. Prior to this role, Austin served as a senior software engineer and software engineer at Innoflight, Inc. from August 2016 to January 2022, and briefly held the position of avionics system integration intern at SpaceX in mid-2016. Austin also founded and presided over the Mechatronics Club while completing studies at San Diego State University, where a non-profit robotics organization was established. Additional experience includes a software internship at Hospira and providing math tutoring from October 2012 to March 2013. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering with a Space Systems Emphasis from the University of New Mexico and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from San Diego State University, accompanied by a minor in Computer Science.
