James McGuire

James (Jim) McGuire serves as the Optics Section Manager at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, leading a team of over 100 engineers in the development of optics for various scientific fields. With experience spanning over three decades in optical engineering, McGuire has held significant roles including Deputy Section Manager and Group Supervisor, and has provided expertise as a Principal Consultant at McGuire Optical Design, LLC. Previous positions include Senior Manager at Synopsys and Director of Optical Engineering Services at Optical Research Associates. McGuire's educational credentials include a Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. in Physics from The University of Alabama in Huntsville, alongside continuing education from Harvard Business School and Caltech.
