Jesse Mendoza Jr has a comprehensive and diverse work experience, with a focus on engineering and research. Jesse has been working at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory since 2017, starting as a Systems Engineering Intern and later transitioning to the role of Systems Engineer. Currently, Jesse is serving as the Team Lead for the Engineering Operations Vehicle Systems Engineers team.

In addition to their work at NASA, Jesse also gained experience as a Software Systems Engineering Intern at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in 2017. Before joining NASA, Jesse was a FIELDS Student Research Intern at UCR Physics & Astronomy, where they gained valuable knowledge in data science and its application to space exploration.

Prior to this, Jesse worked as a Student Researcher in the Department of Chemical & Environmental Engineering at UCR, where they contributed to the development of a roof shingle coating that reduces NOx pollutants. Jesse also gained research experience as a Research Assistant at the Center for Environmental Research and Technology and the Jay Gan Environmental Chemistry Laboratory.

Jesse's passion for space exploration is further reflected in their role as a Planetary Science Intern at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where they developed an equation of state for aqueous ammonia solutions.

Before pursuing their engineering and research career, Jesse worked as a Program Coordinator at UCR Housing.

Jesse Mendoza Jr has a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Riverside, which they obtained from 2012 to 2017. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Science (MS) in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Southern California from 2021 to 2023. In addition to their academic achievements, they have obtained certifications in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and completed intermediate courses in data analysis with Pandas, Python programming, and storytelling through data visualization from Dataquest.io.
