Pedro Lopez

Chair, Safety Technical Review Board, Commercial Crew Program At NASA

Pedro Lopez has over 16 years of experience in aerospace engineering, currently serving as the Chair of the Spacecraft Safety Technical Review Board and Deputy Certification Manager for the Commercial Crew Program at NASA. Previous roles at NASA include leadership positions in spacecraft human rating, systems engineering and integration, and thermal control systems for the International Space Station. Prior to NASA, Pedro worked at Boeing as a thermal engineer on the Integrated Vehicle Analysis team, focusing on thermal performance analysis for the Space Shuttle. Pedro holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Rice University and both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas-Pan American.
