Marco Tulio Tejeda has a diverse work experience in the field of entomology and insect genetics. Marco Tulio started their career as a PhD researcher at Universidad Veracruzana, where they conducted applied research in fields such as strain selection and improvement of fruit flies, insect physiology, and applied evolution.

After completing their PhD, Marco Tulio Tejeda worked as a scientific researcher at Senasica, where they conducted scientific research related to their expertise. Marco Tulio then joined IICA as a geneticist, specializing in insect genetics. In this role, they managed and secured the genetic sexing strain used for crop protection through the Sterile Insect Technique. Marco Tulio also worked on improving technical operations and the production of insect lines.

In 2021, Marco Tulio Tejeda founded Entomolove, a company focused on farming insects using scientific methods and dedication. At Entomolove, they reared black soldier flies for insect protein, promoted the use of biological control agents, and helped companies revalue their by-products.

Currently, Marco Tulio Tejeda is working as a Genetic Program Manager at Nasekomo since 2023.

Marco Tulio Tejeda completed their Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Biology/Biological Sciences at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México from 2002 to 2008. Marco Tulio then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from 2009 to 2015 at the Universidad Veracruzana.
