Katherine A Wagner is the Assistant Director of the Center For Workforce Development at Nassau Community College. Katherine has over 20 years of experience in telecom and technology management. Prior to their current position, they were the Director of Technology - Systems Integration & Testing at Verizon for 14 years. In that role, they were responsible for leading a team of highly skilled technical professionals to evaluate, validate and test the capabilities of telecom service offerings before deployment.
During their time at Verizon, they were also accountable for staff motivation/career development/training during corporate mergers, reorganizations & downsizings. Katherine was successful in executing business plans and consistently exceeding budget management goals. Katherine was also a role model for quality process and implemented best practices, database systems, automated testing, and improved vendor coordinated procedures.
Prior to joining Verizon, Katherine was the Engineering Director at NYNEX for 9 years. In that role, they operated & upgraded lab and related computer systems without service interruption and within budget. Katherine also developed, facilitated and delivered training conferences to address personal accountability, performance excellence, change, and team spirit.
Katherine has been supporting college students as a Career Mentor since 2012. In that role, they provide guidance and advice to students on their career aspirations and goals.
Katherine A Wagner's educational career includes obtaining an MBA in Computer Information Systems from Pace University - Lubin School of Business, a BA in Mathematics from St John's University, NY, and a Certificate in Career Planning and Development from New York University.
