Clare Blessen

Clare Blessen is the Senior Director of Data & Strategy at nate. Clare has over three years of experience working in data analysis and consulting, with a focus on financial data.

Blessen began their career as an intern at PPM America, Inc., where they worked in business development in Asia. Clare then interned at PwC in their Private Company Services Assurance department. In October 2017, they joined PwC full-time as an Assurance Associate.

At PwC, Blessen was responsible for quantitative analysis of financial data to assess increased financial risks of a business and mining data to identify fraud or error occurrences. Clare also served as the key contact with data teams for the implementation of new proprietary technology for the audit of an S&P 100 corporation, facilitating audit work with over 40 international teams and a variety of NYC based teams. In addition, they designed automation of previously manual processes using Alteryx, saving the team over 200 hours of work per year, with planned expansion to worldwide teams.

Blessen left PwC in October 2019 to join nate as Senior Director of Data & Strategy. In this role, they are responsible for leading nate’s data initiatives and developing data-driven strategies to improve nate’s products and services.

Clare Blessen has a Master of Science in Accounting from Tulane University's A.B. Freeman School of Business, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Finance from the same school. Clare also participated in an abroad program at Universidad Pontificia Comillas. In addition, they have a certification in Advanced SQL for Data Scientists from LinkedIn and is a Certified Public Accountant from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Clare Blessen reports to Evan Pincus, COO. Clare Blessen works with Drew Applebaum - Director of Payment Products, Rosmery Osuna - Global Controller, and Abdallah Al Housseini - Senior Operations Associate.
