Elias Makori

Elias Makori has had a long and diverse work experience in the field of sports journalism. Elias began their career in 1992 as a Sports Correspondent for The Standard Group. In 1993, they joined Nation Media Group as a Senior Sports Writer and later took on roles such as Sports Editor, Managing Editor, and Deputy Sports Editor. Makori also served as the Regional Editor for the North Rift region during this time. In 2008, they became a Press Commission Member for the IAAF and then assumed the role of Member in the Press and Media Operations Advisory Group from 2016 to 2018. Overall, Makori has worked for both media organizations and international sports associations, bringing their expertise and passion for sports journalism to various positions.

Elias Makori completed an International Masters in Sports Management from Johan Cruyff Institute in 2015-2016. Elias also holds a Diploma in Journalism from St. Augustine University of Tanzania, obtained in 1991-1992.
