Janet Trost

Janet Trost is an experienced mediator, arbitrator, and attorney with a diverse background in dispute resolution and legal practice. Since December 2022, Janet has served as a Mediator and Arbitrator at the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, while concurrently acting as a Mediator and Referee/Arbitrator for the Nevada Real Estate Division since October 2013. In addition, Janet has presided as a Short Trial Judge at the Eighth Judicial District Court of Nevada since 1992, and has held the position of Settlement Judge with the Supreme Court of Nevada since 2001. Janet's extensive legal career includes founding the Janet Trost Law Firm in 1996, focusing on collection, bankruptcy, and civil litigation, and engaging in various roles in arbitration and mediation through programs such as the Nevada Foreclosure Mediation Program and the American Arbitration Association. Janet holds a J.D. from Cardozo School of Law, a B.S. in Business Administration from the New York Institute of Technology, and has served on various boards, contributing significantly to labor relations and public sector disputes.
