Sarah Slaughter

Sarah Slaughter is a prominent figure in the fields of civil engineering, sustainability, and education. Currently serving as an Elected Member at both the National Academy of Engineering and the National Academy of Construction since 2017 and 2013 respectively, Sarah also leads the Built Environment Coalition as CEO, President, and Executive Director, focusing on resilience and sustainability research and education. Previous academic roles include Visiting Lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Associate Professor at both MIT and Lehigh University. Sarah founded MOCA Systems and held significant positions at Retroficiency, Inc., Eastern Research Group, Inc., and MIT in various capacities related to sustainability and infrastructure. Sarah's academic achievements include a PhD and an MSc in Civil Engineering and Management Sciences from MIT.
