Emilie Sinkler currently serves as a Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Fellow at The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, focusing on atmospheric sciences and climate issues since March 2024. Previously, Emilie was a PhD candidate in Geophysics at the University of Alaska Fairbanks from August 2015 to April 2024, where research emphasized ice deformation and its impact on the West Antarctic Ice Sheet. Emilie's teaching experience includes roles as an instructor and teaching assistant for various courses. Additionally, as an instructor and web editor for Inspiring Girls Expeditions, Emilie contributed to science curriculum development and mentorship for underserved high school girls. Prior internships at the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES) and as a field assistant for the SIIOS project further expanded Emilie's expertise in climate science and fieldwork. Emilie holds a B.A. in Earth and Environmental Science and Physics from Wesleyan University and a PhD in Geophysics from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
