Samantha Butler

Samantha Butler is a skilled social media specialist currently contributing to The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine since March 2020, focusing on science communication during the Covid-19 pandemic. Previously, Samantha served as a social media coordinator for the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association from June 2018 to March 2020, where efforts were directed towards community building and professional development within the printing industry. Samantha began a career at SGIA as a membership assistant, fostering relationships with members and understanding industry challenges. Earlier experience includes a laboratory assistant role at Mercy Medical Center in the Pathology Department and working as a scientific illustrator for the Department of Anthropology at Iowa State University, where contributions included creating anatomical guides. Samantha holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological/Pre-Medical Illustration from Iowa State University.
