William D. "Will" Burns is currently serving as the Executive Vice President for National Advocacy at the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools since September 2021. Previously, Burns held leadership positions at Spin, including Head of Government Partnerships for the US East and Director of Government Partnerships for the East Coast. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Campaign Manager at Airbnb, Alderman of the 4th Ward with the Chicago City Council, State Representative for the 26th Representative District in Illinois, Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to the Illinois Senate President, and Vice President at the Chicago Urban League. Burns began a career in political campaigning as Deputy Campaign Manager and Field Director for Obama for Congress 2000. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in Social Sciences and a Bachelor of Arts in Law, Letters, and Society, both from the University of Chicago, as well as a high school diploma from Hawken School.
