Janai Robinson-Makarov

Janai Robinson-Makarov is an experienced art educator currently serving as an Art Teacher at Lincoln Public Schools since August 2023. With a diverse background in art instruction, Janai has previously taught at Madison Academy High School and Burton Glen Charter Academy, and served as an Art Instructor for Young Rembrandts Franchise. Janai actively contributes to the field as a member of the National Art Education Association since January 2019, while also running a graphic and clothing design business through Schatzie Designs LLC since May 2014. In addition to a robust teaching career, Janai has a background in pastoral care, having worked as a Chaplain at Covenant HealthCare and a Sole Pastor at Our Savior Lutheran Church. Janai holds a Master of Divinity from Wartburg Theological Seminary and dual degrees in Visual Communication & Design and German from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
