Jamie Abbott

Jamie Abbott has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. In 1997, Jamie began as a Restaurant Manager at Simmonds Restaurant Mgmt and held the position until 2003. Jamie later worked as an Executive Assistant at Today's Staffing from January 2006 to May 2006, followed by a similar role at the Nebraska Propane Gas Association from May 2006 to October 2009.

Jamie's career then shifted to the public sector, starting with roles at the Nebraska Department of Labor. From July 2010 to November 2012, Jamie served as an Unemployment Insurance Adjudicator in the System Test Team. The experience led to a promotion as an Unemployment Insurance Improper Payment Cross-functional Program Analyst, a position held from November 2012 to November 2013. Next, Jamie joined netPolarity, Inc. as a Lead Business Systems Analyst from November 2013 to March 2014.

Returning to the Nebraska Department of Labor, Jamie worked as a Business Analyst Coordinator from March 2014 to May 2016. Subsequently, Jamie became an Unemployment Insurance Program Supervisor from May 2016 to August 2016. Concurrently, Jamie also served as a Volleyball Official at the Great Plains Regional Volleyball Association starting from January 2016.

In September 2016, Jamie joined the National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA) as a Program Specialist, a role held until June 2019. Following that, Jamie stepped into the position of SIDES Program Manager from June 2019 to January 2022. Later, Jamie served as the Operations Manager at NASWA from January 2022 to October 2022.

Most recently, Jamie holds the position of Implementation Project Task Director for Unemployment Insurance Tiger Teams Projects at NASWA, starting from October 2022.

Jamie Abbott attended Peru State College from 1995 to 1996, majoring in Business Education. They returned to Peru State College in 2017 and are expected to graduate in 2023 with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree, focusing on Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services.

In addition to their formal education, Jamie Abbott has obtained several certifications. They completed the "Managing Virtual Teams" course at LinkedIn in September 2023. In November 2019, they obtained certifications in "Content Marketing: Social Media" and "Marketing Your Event" at LinkedIn. They also completed the "2019 Kevin Mitnick Security Awareness Training" at KnowBe4 in October 2019.

Lastly, Jamie Abbott acquired certifications in "Creating a Unique Competitive Advantage," "Management Foundations (2013)," "Guy Kawasaki on How to Rock Social Media," and "Writing a Marketing Plan" at LinkedIn in October 2019 and June 2018, respectively.
