Scott B. Sanders serves as President and CEO of the National Association of State Workforce Agencies since November 2014, managing the association which advocates for effective workforce systems and engages with key federal entities and the public. Previously, Scott served as Commissioner for the State of Indiana's Workforce Development from May 2005 to October 2014, overseeing operations for a 1,000+ employee agency with a budget exceeding $2 billion focused on education, training, and unemployment insurance. Earlier career roles include President, Chief Financial Officer, and Vice President at First Commonwealth/Guardian Life, where Scott managed dental benefits totaling $100 million, and Chief Financial Officer at Dental Care Plus, overseeing operations in Illinois. Scott holds a BSBA in Accountancy from Miami University and an MBA in Finance, Management, and Policy from Northwestern University.

National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA) is the national organization representing all 50 state workforce agencies, D.C. and U.S. territories. These agencies deliver training, employment, career, and business services, in addition to administering the unemployment insurance, veteran reemployment, and labor market information programs. NASWA provides policy expertise, shares promising state practices, and promotes state innovation and leadership in workforce development.
