Daniel Roper-Jones

Center Director at National Audubon Society

Daniel Roper-Jones has a range of experience in environmental education and conservation. Daniel is currently working as a Center Director at the National Audubon Society, where they are focused on rebuilding programs and activities at the Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audubon Center. Prior to this, they founded and served as the Executive Director of Fauna in Focus, where they were responsible for project development, environmental awareness campaigns, and fundraising events. Daniel also worked as the Education & Communications Manager at the Angkor Centre for Conservation of Biodiversity, where they designed education programs and communication materials, as well as participated in wildlife surveys and monitoring. Additionally, they worked as an Environmental Education Coordinator at CERCOPAN, expanding outreach programs and managing a local education team. Daniel also has experience as a Teaching Fellow at the Wildlife Conservation Society, conducting educational programs and caring for a tractable animals collection. Daniel has also directed The Nosy Maitso Project, an environmental education and outreach initiative, and worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Institute for the Conservation of Tropical Environments, focusing on environmental education in Madagascar.

Daniel Roper-Jones graduated from Stony Brook University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical and Biological Anthropology. In addition to their degree, they have also received a certification in Wilderness Survival and Leadership from Outward Bound USA, although the specific month and year of obtaining the certification are unknown.
