Usman Ahmed is a seasoned banking executive currently serving as the Group Chief Executive Officer at the National Bank of Bahrain since December 2022. Prior to this role, Usman held various significant positions at Citi from August 2011 to December 2022, including Chief Executive Officer and Board Member for Citi Malaysia, as well as CEO and Managing Director for Citi Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar. Usman also contributed to the establishment of the Islamic Banking sector in multiple regions while leading corporate and investment banking initiatives. Earlier experience includes a tenure at Barclays Bank as Head of Corporate Banking for Emerging Markets and various leadership positions at Citi focused on global Islamic banking. Usman holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Lahore University of Management Sciences.
