Dustin Aherin

Dustin Aherin has extensive experience in the livestock industry, with a particular focus on strategy and research. Dustin has most recently served as the Director of Corporate Strategy at National Beef Packing Company, where they have been since 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Strategy - Fresh Meats at Tyson Foods from 2021 to 2022. Dustin is also the co-founder of CattleList LLC, a company they were involved with from 2017 to 2022. Before their corporate roles, they gained valuable experience as an owner of Aherin Brothers Livestock from 2003 to 2021. Dustin has also undertaken various roles in academia, including being a student at Kansas State University and a Visiting Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Sloan School of Management. Dustin has also worked as a Sales Representative at ELANCO ANIMAL HEALTH and gained practical experience in the industry at Stevenson Sputnik and the Kansas State University Purebred Beef Teaching Unit.

Dustin Aherin began their education journey in 2010 at Allen Community College, where they earned an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Animal Sciences. Dustin then continued their studies at Kansas State University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Animal Science with a Business Option in 2014. In 2017, they completed their Master of Science (MS) degree in Animal Science at Kansas State University as well. Following this, from 2017 to 2020, Dustin pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at Kansas State University, specializing in Beef Cattle Systems Modeling. In 2018, they also undertook a Visiting Fellow Certificate at MIT Sloan School of Management with a focus on systems modeling and data analytics.
