Chauncey Smith

Chauncey Smith, Ph.D., currently serves as an Educational Technologist at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights since August 2023. Previously, Chauncey held the position of Assistant Professor of Education at the University of Virginia from February 2017 to August 2023, where responsibilities included managing a qualitative research team and publishing research on Black youth experiences. Chauncey has also worked as a Senior UX Researcher at Instagram and has extensive experience at the University of Michigan in various research and teaching roles, including being a Graduate Student Research Assistant and Translational Research Fellow. Chauncey holds a Ph.D. in Education & Psychology, a Master of Science in Psychology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, all from the University of Michigan and Morehouse College.
