Nicole A. Moore

Nicole A. Moore has a diverse work experience in the field of education and history. Nicole A. began their career as a Graduate Assistant for Housing and Residence Life at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2006. Nicole A. later worked as an Intern at Historic Latta Plantation, where they researched and developed educational programs focused on the lives of slaves in the 18th and 19th centuries. Moore then worked as a Leasing Consultant at Blue Ridge Property Management before moving on to become involved in various historical and civil rights initiatives.

Nicole A. served as the History and Culture Subcommittee Chair for the Rock Hill Jail, No Bail, 50th Anniversary, assisting in the organization of community screenings and creating promotional materials. Nicole A. also worked as a Community Liaison for the 2011 Student Freedom Ride, engaging with the community and promoting the event. Moore then took on the role of Social Media Manager for The Friendship Nine, utilizing social media platforms to share historical facts and updates about the Civil Rights Icons.

In 2011, Moore founded Interpreting Slave Life, a consulting agency that helps historic sites address the topic of slavery through staff training and exhibit consultation. Nicole A. also worked as a Museum Educator for the City of Virginia Beach, where they developed and implemented educational programs about colonial era lifestyles.

From 2015 to 2019, Moore worked as the Manager of Education & Museum Content at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, responsible for curating exhibits and collaborating with Morehouse College and the Robert W. Woodruff Library.

Throughout their career, Moore has demonstrated a passion for educating others about history, particularly the experiences of enslaved African Americans, and has actively contributed to initiatives related to civil rights and historical preservation.

Nicole A. Moore's education history begins in 2000 when they enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Nicole A. successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2004.

Following their Bachelor's degree, Nicole went on to further their education at the same university. From 2005 to 2008, they pursued a Master's degree with a focus on History and Public History at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Nicole also obtained a certification as a Certified Interpretive Guide from the National Association for Interpretation in May 2010.
