Rebecca Barnwell

Director, Development at National Center for Families Learning

As the Director of Development at NCFL, Rebecca leads revenue generation efforts for the organization. She works closely with institutional and individual donors to fulfill their philanthropic goals through supporting NCFL’s work. In addition, she leads all federal grant writing initiatives and sponsorship opportunities, ensuring that NCFL maintains a balanced, diversified funding portfolio. Prior to joining NCFL's team, she held a variety of development roles at grassroots nonprofit agencies and higher education institutions including Vanderbilt University and Indiana University Southeast. She loves the combination of relationship-building, strategy, and writing that the development field demands. Rebecca earned a bachelor’s degree from Smith College located in Northampton, Ma. and an M.B.A. from Indiana University Southeast. Rebecca enjoyed six years living in NCFL’s hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.
