Rashema Melson is a dedicated advocate and leader in addressing the issues of poverty and homelessness, serving as the Founder and President of the Melson Foundation since November 2022. This foundation focuses on empowering individuals and families from generational poverty through education and resources. Additionally, Rashema operates as the CEO of Pain Into PURPOSE, Consulting Inc. and is a Team Leader and Racial Equity Coach for the California Interagency Council on Homelessness, where efforts include designing equitable homelessness systems and analyzing data to reduce racial disparities. In various roles, including with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the National Coalition for the Homeless, Rashema emphasizes community engagement and systemic change through lived experience and advocacy. Educationally, Rashema holds a Bachelor's degree in Justice and Peace Studies from Georgetown University, which complements years of commitment to addressing inequities in housing and public policy.
