Alex Smith

Alex Smith is an accomplished Advanced Research Engineer at the National Composites Centre since October 2024. Prior to this role, Alex served as a Senior Mechatronics Engineer at iCOMAT from January 2023 to October 2024 and previously held the positions of Mechatronics Engineer and Research Fellow at Bristol Robotics Laboratory from November 2016 to December 2022. Alex holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Robotics and Control from the University of Plymouth, obtained in March 2016, and a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from the same institution, completed in June 2011.
