Kyle Pender

Advanced Research Engineer

Kyle Pender is an Advanced Research Engineer at the National Composites Centre since April 2021, focusing on developing end-of-life solutions for offshore wind turbine blade waste through a Supergen Offshore Renewable Energy hub project. Previously, Pender served as a Research Engineer and Research Associate at the University of Strathclyde from November 2019 to April 2021, leading projects on recycling technology for wind turbine blade waste and market development for recyclate materials. Prior experience includes a Research Assistant position at the University of Strathclyde in 2018, where Pender developed a prototype product from recycled composites. Pender holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, as well as a PGCert in Researcher Professional Development, all earned from the University of Strathclyde.
