Diane Dieuliis

Distinguished Research Fellow at National Defense University

Diane DiEuliis, Ph.D., is a distinguished Research Fellow at the National Defense University since November 2015. In addition, Diane serves as Co-Chair of the Biotechnology Standing Committee at the National Academy of Sciences starting August 2021. Diane's previous experience includes a decade as a Professor with Strategic Multilayer Assessment from 2008 to 2018, where the focus was on addressing complex challenges in defense planning and operations. From July 2011 to November 2015, Diane held the role of Deputy Director for Policy at the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response within the US Department of Health and Human Services. Diane also worked at the Office of Science and Technology Policy in the Executive Office of the President from June 2007 to July 2011 as Assistant Director for Life Sciences, and served as Program Director at the National Institutes of Health from 1999 to 2007. Diane's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Cell Biology and Anatomy from the University of Delaware and several leadership and policy qualifications from prestigious institutions.
