Jeffrey Mankoff is a distinguished research fellow at the National Defense University, Institute of National Strategic Studies, since May 2020. Prior to this role, Mankoff served as a senior fellow for Russia and Eurasia at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) from October 2011 to May 2020, where responsibilities included research on security affairs and providing briefings. Mankoff has held academic positions including adjunct professor at Georgetown University and contributed to U.S. foreign policy as an International Affairs Fellow at the U.S. Department of State. Mankoff's earlier experience includes leadership roles at Yale University and the Council on Foreign Relations, as well as research at Harvard University. Mankoff holds a PhD in History and Security Studies from Yale University and a BA in International Studies with a focus on Russian from the University of Oklahoma.
