Amani Zara

Amani Zara has a diverse work experience starting in 2016 with Precision Signs Ltd. as a Regional Marketing Consultant until 2018. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as a Press & Communications Intern at the Chicago Mayor's Office. Amani then worked as a Writing Consultant at the University of Illinois Chicago from 2016 to 2018. In 2018, they served as a Communications Intern for the Office of Violence Prevention and Behavioral Health at the Chicago Department of Public Health. From 2018 to 2019, they worked as a Digital Communications Specialist at the Institute of Politics at the University of Chicago. In 2019, they joined Pete for America, organizing campaigns in California and Iowa. In 2020, they became a Co-Founder of We Are AAPI and also worked as a Digital Communications Strategist at Higher Ground Labs until 2021. Currently, they are the Associate Director of Marketing at the National Democratic Training Committee.

Amani Zara graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Psychology & Professional Writing. Prior to that, they attended Neuqua Valley High School from 2010 to 2014, where they completed their high school education. In addition to their academic qualifications, Amani obtained a PESO Model Certification from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University in March 2023.
