Victoria Corbit

Director, Scientific Services at National Disease Research Interchange

Dr. Corbit joined the NDRI team in 2022 as Director of Scientific Services after spending 10 years conducting research at top-tier universities. Dr. Corbit completed her doctoral degree in neuroscience in 2019, conducting research as a joint trainee in labs at the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. She continued research as a post-doctoral fellow at Princeton University for 3 years until starting at NDRI.

Dr. Corbit’s primary responsibility at NDRI is to manage tissue requests from all of their researchers, from corporate to academic. Dr. Corbit has extensive experience working in research, including hands-on lab work, project management, constructing primary research publications and developing successful NIH-funded grants.

Dr. Corbit uses her perspective as a scientist to understand what incoming researchers need and value for their experiments using human biospecimens. She acts as the primary liaison to communicate these detailed requests to the NDRI Feasibility Committee and navigates any issues that researchers run up against during their partnership with NDRI.

Dr. Corbit came to NDRI because she was drawn to the mission-driven philosophy and the team-based work environment. As a long-time animal researcher, Dr. Corbit is particularly interested in helping animal model researchers heighten the biomedical impact of their work by validating their findings in human tissue.
