Denise Hamburger, JD, is the Founder and Executive Director of BE REAL, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering healthy relationships with food and body image among children. With extensive experience as a teacher, speaker, and activist, Denise has educated over 3,500 educators and parents on promoting body confidence. Denise also contributes as a facilitator for the National Eating Disorders Association and The Body Positive, focusing on prevention and community engagement. In addition to board positions with organizations such as the Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago and After School Matters, Denise has a robust educational background, earning a JD from the University of Michigan Law School and engaging in graduate studies at the University of Chicago.

The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) is the leading non-profit organization in the United States advocating on behalf of and supporting individuals and families affected by eating disorders. Reaching millions every year, we campaign for prevention, improved access to quality treatment, and increased research funding to better understand and treat eating disorders. We work with partners and volunteers to develop programs and tools to help everyone who seeks assistance.
