Lauren Burrows

Lauren Burrows is a Research Physical Scientist at the National Energy Technology Laboratory, where responsibilities include evaluating surfactants for enhanced oil recovery and analyzing hydrocarbon extracts via GC-MS. Additionally, Lauren serves as a Research Scientist at Leidos, supporting NETL by studying subsurface chemical reactions in fracturing fluids and their impact on wastewater contamination. Previous experience includes a role as a Graduate Student at the University of Pittsburgh, where Lauren developed an asymmetric rhodium-catalyzed cyclocarbonylation reaction, and served as an Organic Chemistry Teaching Assistant. Lauren's early career included internships at The Lubrizol Corporation, focusing on chemical synthesis and additive purification, and as a Research Assistant at Colgate University, working on potential anti-cancer compounds. Educational achievements include a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh and a BA in Chemistry from Colgate University.
