Jim Mitchell currently serves as the State Lead Advocate for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, focusing on improving firefighter safety through the Everyone Goes Home program. Previous experience includes serving as Fire Chief at both the Polk City Fire Department and Knoxville Fire Department, where responsibilities involved coordinating fire prevention and emergency medical services. Jim Mitchell has also held the position of Lead State Advocate at the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, promoting firefighter safety and honoring fallen heroes. Early in the career, roles included Firefighter/Paramedic/HAZ MAT Technician at the Des Moines Fire Department and Assistant Fire Chief at the Urbandale Fire Department.
