Alexis McLaughlin's work experience begins in 2011 as a Waitress/Hostess at Logan's Roadhouse, where they promoted positive customer service and boosted sales. In 2012, they joined Menards as a Sales Associate, assisting customers and organizing stock displays. In 2012, they also started their own business, Allie McLaughlin Photography, where they served as the Owner/Photographer, building a strong web presence and providing high-quality images for clients. From 2015 to 2016, Alexis worked as a Marketing Coordinator at Motorama Auto Center, managing social media accounts and assisting with customer service. In 2016, they started working at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, initially as a Marketing Intern, securing booth rentals and assisting with the scheduling of the Field Marketing team. Alexis later took on the role of Ticket Operations and Sales Coordinator, handling ticket sales and customer inquiries. From 2019 to the present, they have been a Manager of Ticket Operations at the same company, overseeing staff and managing the ticketing process. In 2022, Alexis joined the National FFA Organization as a Program Manager for Leadership Development.

Alexis McLaughlin earned a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis from 2012 to 2015.
