Leanne Mabberley's work experience begins in 1996 as a Production Assistant at St Helens Star newspaper. Leanne then worked as an Editorial Assistant at Lancashire Evening Post before joining Children in Scotland as a Communications Officer in 1998. In 2001, Leanne moved to City of Edinburgh Council and took on various roles, including Media and Communications Officer and Communications and Marketing Manager for the City Development department. In 2009, they started working at Edinburgh Napier University, initially as the Head of Corporate Communications and later as the Assistant Director of Marketing, Brand, and Communications. Leanne'sresponsibilities included leading teams, developing marketing strategies, managing media relations, and implementing brand initiatives. Leanne's most recent position, starting in 2018, is as the Head of Marketing and Communications at the National Galleries of Scotland, where they oversee marketing, external communications, and internal communications for multiple galleries. Notably, they led a project to update the NGS brand and its implementation across various platforms.

Leanne Mabberley's education history includes a BA Hons in American Studies from the University of Nottingham, completed from 1993 to 1996.
