Margaret Lonergan is an accomplished visual communication professional with extensive experience in education, consultancy, and design. Currently, Margaret is a member of the Education and guide team at the National Gallery of Ireland, a position held since August 2017. As the Owner/Director of a visual communication consultancy since March 2009, Margaret creates large-scale screen images for live music performances. Previous roles include Associate in Communication Design at Corporate Community from 2009 to 2016, where Margaret developed visual concepts for health organizations, and Head of the Department of Visual Communication at the National College of Art & Design from 2003 to 2009, overseeing undergraduate and postgraduate students. Additionally, Margaret has experience as a lecturer in graphic design and digital image-making at the National College of Art & Design between 1991 and 2003, alongside freelance design and illustration work for various sectors. Margaret's educational background includes a Master’s degree in Design from the National College of Art & Design and a Bachelor's degree in Visual Communication, both focusing on illustration and book design.
