Maria Edwards

Maria Edwards currently serves as the Director of Operations for Explorer Engagement at the National Geographic Society, a position held since September 2023. Prior to this role, Maria gained extensive experience at The Earth Genome as Chief of Staff and Product and Operations Lead from September 2021 to September 2023. Maria's career at the National Geographic Society also includes multiple roles from August 2017 to September 2021, including Manager of Program Operations. Earlier experiences include writing for Analogue Music, interning at Smithsonian Folkways, and freelance writing for Stereosubversion. Maria holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from Anderson University, where studies were completed between 2013 and 2017.
