Dan Byerly is a seasoned educational leader with extensive experience in content innovation and curriculum design. Currently serving as the Director of Content Innovation at National Geographic, Dan focuses on creating high-quality online professional learning materials for educators, collaborating with various teams to enhance educational resources. Previously, Dan held the position of Director of Social Studies Instruction at Discovery Communications, where a CODiE award-winning series of digital Social Studies Techbooks was developed, achieving significant sales across numerous school districts. Dan's experience also includes directing curriculum development and instructional practices at Friendship Public Charter School and teaching Social Studies at Maya Angelou Public Charter School. Educational credentials include an Ed.M. in School Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education and an A.B. in History and Education from Brown University.
